We’re here to help. The scheme is here to do that by using the talents of all those who volunteer. Is that you?

“Home-Start Spelthorne is a friendly, well-run organisation, which acknowledges all the different skills those involved have to offer. I am very proud to belong as a trustee. The Trustees have to ensure that the resources are used wisely to support families who are finding life with young children difficult. Some of us have been there but, ultimately, there is nothing more rewarding than bringing up children, with pleasure.”

We need you

Governors of Home-Start Spelthorne

Home-Start Spelthorne is an independent charity with Trustees being responsible for directing the management and administration of the charity. Trustees have a wide range of roles but are primarily responsible for making the charity effective, providing overall direction and maintaining sound management of funds.

Trustees need to be able to attend regular meetings approximately once every two months and also be able to devote time outside those meetings to support the charity in delivering its vision.

Home-Start Spelthorne needs Trustees with a variety of skills and experience and from a wide range of backgrounds.  Being a Trustee can be hard work, but it is also very rewarding, giving many chances for personal development and the chance to give something back to your local community. Trustees can access training and support from the Home-Start UK dedicated team of specialist consultants and there are opportunities to network with Trustees from other schemes in the region.

Without volunteer Trustees Home-Start Spelthorne couldn’t function and families and children wouldn’t get the support they need.
