AGM – July 2017

Annual General Meeting – 6th July 2017

It was pleasing to see so many volunteers, trustees and supporters of Home-Start Spelthorne attend this year’s AGM.  Representatives from Health, Social Care, Surrey County Council, Spelthorne Borough Council, and other local organisations also attended.

Beth Scott, Scheme Chair, welcomed the Deputy Mayor of Spelthorne, Cllr Jean Pinkerton OBE and her Consort Mrs Linda Burton.  Cllr Pinkerton is a good friend of Home-Start Spelthorne and in her address gave a glowing report on the good work that continues to be carried out by the Home-Start Spelthorne team of volunteers and staff.

Beth thanked the Deputy Mayor for her support, she talked about the new organisation arrangements and reflected on the scheme’s achievements and activities over the past year.

Anne Damerell, Scheme Treasurer, reported on another successful year with only a very small deficit.  See Annual Report 2016/17.

Mandy Groves, Scheme Strategic Development Manager, thanked all staff, trustees and volunteers for their commitment to the Scheme; which could not be the success it is without their dedication and hard work.

Linda Dadge was presented with a certificate and flowers in recognition of her 20 years as a Home-Visiting Volunteer.

Joan Ponton was presented with a certificate and flowers in recognition of her 15 years as a Trustee.

Vivian Williams was presented with a certificate and flowers in recognition of her 10 years as a Trustee.

Easter Party  Families recently attended our Easter Party which was funded by the Rotary Club of Shepperton and Sunbury.  The Rotarian ladies kindly prepared the lunch whilst the men did the heavy work…although we did suggest the roles could be reversed…the families all had a wonderful time!  Every family left with Easter eggs kindly donated by Katie Sumner and her friends.

Other of our families received Easter hampers donated by the Rotary Club of Ashford and Easter eggs donated by the listeners of Eagle Radio.
