Please join us in welcoming our new Family Support Co-ordinator, Nicky Webster, who started work with us on 1st March, 2016.
Hello! My name is Nicky, and I live in Shepperton with my husband Dan and our three daughters. We have fairly recently returned to Shepperton after a spell of living and working in Shanghai and Singapore – it was a wonderful few years of adventure for our family but as they say…there’s no place like home!
It is very exciting for me that I’ve joined the Home-Start Spelthorne team, as in my past I have benefited from being supported by a wonderful volunteer when my children were very small. More recently I enjoyed being a Home-Start Home Visiting Volunteer, so I know the Home-Start way from a few different angles and I know what a huge difference my original job was as a General Adult Nurse. I loved being a community RGN and worked in and around Wimbledon for five years when I was first married and my eldest was small. Previous to that I worked in Guys and St Thomas Hospital, London. My passion was really caring for people in their own homes – hopefully some of the skills learnt there will be useful at Home-Start.
I am very much looking forward to working with our fantastically encouraging and skilled Volunteers, Staff, Trustees and Friends in helping Home-Start Spelthorne become even more successful in implementing its aim to support parents to give their children the best start in life.
