Amanda, our Senior Co-ordinator, attended the National Convention held at the Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham towards the end of March 2016.

The theme of the convention was “Brighter Futures”, a lot was spoken about how as an organisation we need to be more innovative and willing to change to fit with the needs of today’s society.  There were some inspirational speakers including Rob Parkinson (CEO HSUK), Richard Gerver (Innovator, Advisor to the UK Government and Author).  Amanda tells us that her personal favourite speaker was Professor Tanya Byron (Clinical Psychologist), who spoke about the issues relating to children and young people with mental health difficulties and the impact of positive parenting.

The two full days of speakers, exhibitions, networking and discussion included what looked like a fun Gala dinner and Volunteer Awards ceremony.
